There are too many states nowadays. Please eliminate three.

(The title is apropos of nothing; that Simpsons quote has just been stuck in my head for a while.)

Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, who won the NFC East and made it to the second round of the playoffs when everyone had left them for dead. And congratulations to the Dallas Cowboys, for stinking up the joint when everyone thought they were poised to be the Super Bowl winners.

As a Colonials fan, I'm always happy to see blurbs like these in the Washington Post:

Colonials Resemble Previous Model: Familiar Success For GW, Now 11-4: George Washington 80, St. Bonaventure 63 (Post, January 14, 2007; Page E09)

Their Shots Fall, but So Do the Hoyas: No. 7 Panthers Too Much for GU : Pittsburgh 74, Georgetown 69 (Post, January 14, 2007; Page E09)

First of all, I'm glad to see that GW is doing well Secondly, I'm glad to see that Georgetown lost. They'll do all right this season, but they never seem to live up to all the hype. As usual.

On a side note, thanks very much to Gustafsson for having us over yesterday to watch Hockey Day in Canada. Even though DirecTV sucks (which is good to know), we enjoyed meeting Mrs. Gustafsson and the OFB boys. Too bad the Caps game was awful; it was still fun to watch it with such a vociferous crowd. We'll definitely have to do it again next year!

The Mrs. and I were glad you and the Mr. were able to attend. The game was awful, but the company was not. Thanks again for the birthday beer. After a day of recovery from HDiC, I'm sure to enjoy it tomorrow.

Cheers!

You remind me of when the Simpsons were funny.

I am going to have to stop being a casual reader of yours, if you can't do at least a quick throwaway post adressing Beckham and Davids moving to MLS.

I hate to be the heavy, but, come on.

"That sounds like Rock and/or Roll!" Figured I should take your lead and start my comment with a Simpsons quote stuck in my head for the past few days. :) Saturday was good fun, glad you two were able to make it!

Hello,
I just wanted to drop a note to say I really enjoy your blog! Really well done. I would love to put your link on my site (if you would allow it), however my provider doesn't yet offer that service. They are working on it though!

Best to you.

No love for J.P.? Harsh.

I'll take the high road and say that it was a pleasure meeting you and all the OFB fellas. :)
