So I finally got to the Kettler Capitals Iceplex last night, for the first time. Not bad! Still a good amount of work to be done, but overall, it looks good. Chanuck and I had the good fortune to catch part of the George Washington/George Mason hockey game. It was a little sad, because while Mason had a huge group of fans, there weren't many besides Chanuck and myself to cheer on the Colonials. Too bad, because they looked pretty good out there; GW scored a shorthanded goal and a regular-strength one in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Mason finally scored halfway through the second to make it 2-1, and we left after that to watch the pickup game on the other rink so I don't know what the final score happened to be. But it was a nice way to spend part of a Friday evening. Made me want to get out on the ice for a couple of shifts myself even though I'm a horrible skater.
Very disappointing game in Carolina last night for the Caps. Hope they can turn it around! I organized a big group of friends to attend this evening's game, and I want them to see a good one. Then again, I'd prefer a boring win to an exciting loss. So let's see a 2-point game tonight!

Hey, I'm taking my son tonight! It's my first hockey game ever. Can you believe it?! We got free tickets from a coworker of MrC. Hope we spot you!
Touchdown Caps!
Haha, nice! I went to a GW-Georgetown club hockey game at the MCI Center a few years ago, either before or after a Caps game. It was fun and nuts. Probably a couple hundred fans for both teams, separated only by an aisle. There was lots of name calling and a couple kids got kicked out. And the GU people foolishly handed out rosters, making trash talking much easier.
Thankfully it ended in a tie, or there probably would have been a brawl.
