Beau Dure of the most excellent USA Today Sports Scope blog had this anecdote to share with me:Scene of fan embarrassment from the 400 section, during the second intermission:
"Wow, man! These kids are really bad! Did you see that??!! They look like they're older, too. I wonder if ... wait a minute ... tonight's the Kolzig tribute ... are they?"
"They're from the American Special Hockey Association."
"Oh, sh--"
Not sure where they were during the first intermission, when it was pretty clear this wasn't the usual "Mites on Ice."
Somehow I'm not surprised at this fine exhibit of cluelessness. I can't even begin to detail the dumb things I've overheard at Caps games.
Next, we had this:
A Romonumental collapse. The decline and fall of Romo. You get the point. I'd almost feel bad for the guy if he wasn't a Cowboy, but it was a fitting end to their season. They didn't deserve to win, especially after the past few crappy games they played, including the one yesterday.And today was the biggest win of all:
This morning, when Chanuck and I were shopping at Safeway, Chanuck of course was wearing his Eagles jersey. As we picked up some Gatorade, an older gentleman walked by Chanuck and said to him, "I hope the Eagles beat the shit out of the Giants today." It wasn't exactly an ass-beating, but it was a heartbreaking loss for them. I'll take that any day.(all photos courtesy of the AP)

Congrats to your Eagles. Disappointing as a UVA fan to see Barber's career end (I think he'll definitely stick to his guns on that one).

The Barra at a Caps-FLYERS game? I wouldn't bring the kids, but this could be entertaining.

Beau- you don't know what you're missing! Then again, I don't know what I'm missing either, since I haven't been able to hang with the Barra at a Caps game yet.
Eddie- I wish I could go; I'm bummed that I can't! Chanuck will be there with y'all though, and I look forward to hearing his first-hand account.

Sweet- Romo's on the golf course. Too bad for him that his enormous ego cost the Cowgirls the game. (ha!)
