Ovechkin- is there anything he can't do?

Interesting article on ESPN.com today, about NHL players ranking fellow players in a number of categories. Ovechkin showed up first:

QUESTION 1: WHO IS THE BEST NATURAL SCORER IN THE NHL?
Ovechkin
Ovechkin
TOP VOTE-GETTER: Alexander Ovechkin (56%).
• Ovechkin burst onto the NHL scene in 2005-06 as part of one of the most talented rookie classes in history. Sports is in this forward's blood -- his mother won two Olympic golds playing hoops for the Soviet Union and his father was a pro soccer player. Ovechkin is known for his physical play and soft hands and he's difficult to knock off the puck.
OTHER MENTIONS: Ilya Kovalchuk, Thrashers (14%); Jaromir Jagr, Rangers (8%); Marian Hossa, Thrashers (7%); Joe Sakic, Avs (4%); Teemu Selanne, Ducks (3%); Brendan Shanahan, Rangers (3%); Jonathan Cheechoo, Sharks (2%); Sidney Crosby (2%).

Can't argue with that! He also ranked in the best skater, overall athlete, hardest hitter categories...the list goes on and on.

How about other Caps? Any mentions? Donald Brashear scored two, in the toughest player and hardest hitter categories. I think my favorite was the "dirtiest player": not surprisingly, asshat Avery ranked first. I hate that guy. Personally, I think he should have gotten more than 38%, but Tucker, Kasparaitis, and Barnaby had to get votes as well.

It's one thing to be voted to the All-Star game by the fans (although Rory could have been voted in)...

It's something else to have the eye of the media...

But to have your peers vote you number one in any category is amazing... It really shows how much respect the NHL players have for the Russian Machine.

BTW Ballston rocks! You need to get out there, watch a practice, check out the facility and post your notes about that place!

The little interview between VS. and AO before the 2nd period of the All-Star Game, where AO started chowing down on Lays potato chips, was quality comedy.

We're pretty fortunate to have AO and Agent 0 around at the same time.
