Fred said I must love the Eagles, so it is so. But he didn't say that I have to love Terrell Owens, which I don't. The guy's one of the biggest assholes in professional football. Comments like this make my blood boil:
"I think some people are kind of ticked off because I haven't really said much. They don't pay me to go in there and talk to everybody and be friendly to everybody. They paid me to play and they paid me to perform. That's what I've been going in there and doing."
Um, no, jackass, you're paid to be a member of the team. That includes being a good teammate and meeting player obligations, like signing autographs (why anyone would want T.O.'s autograph at this point is beyond me). If I was any other guy on the team I would want to kick his ass. T.O. is such a selfish assclown. People aren't coming to see Terrell Owens (not anymore), they're coming to see the Philadelphia Eagles. I don't see him in Philly for much longer- that's one city you don't want to piss off. The typical Philly fan feeling (from Fred, anyway) is that T.O. is a jerkwad but at least he's a good player and on "our" team- if he was on another team he'd be much more hated. I don't care, I dislike him anyway. What a prima donna.

Sportschick,
Let me know if you're going to be there tonight. Just post on our blog. It's at Mr. Smith's in Georgetown. If so, I'll bring the floppy hat. I'm probably not going to take it with me unless I hear from you.
I especially liked him talking about "being a man about" the "difference in opinion" he had with Andy Reid. I feel the same about him as I do about Hines Ward and others who holdout...
If you want more money you are free to ask for it, but your team is not obligated to give it to you. YOU however ARE obligated to be there at practice everyday since you signed the contract to begin with. Wanting more money does not give you the right to sit out like a whiney little child.

Hines Ward is probably the hardest working wide reciever in football. He's selfless on the field and often is seen throwing blocks way down field to clear the paths for the Steelers backs. Yes. He probably is underpaid for what he does... but he SIGNED A CONTRACT. Show up for work and practice/play. Deal with other issues while you're there. Now you don't look like a villain to the fans (who help pay your salary) and media. It's pretty easy to me... IF I'm a GM or owner I'm a helluva lot more likely to think about negotiating with the guy who comes to work every day than the guy who sits out.
Word, I-66; you said it much better than I did.
The owner and GM play a big role here, too, in terms of how they react to the work stoppage. I have to admit, I was surprised when a guy like Westbrook recently didn't show up for the first day of camp; I thought he was above that. (In fact, Fred yelled at me for slightly criticizing Westbrook, even then, because he's usually a good guy.) The owner and GM have to show that such juvenile tactics aren't going to work with them. More players are going to pull that crap if they think it's going to work.
I have much more respect for the guys who show up every day and play hard the way they're supposed to, even if they're not superstars or big name players.
Sweetie,
The Eagles are NOT Owens. If he didn't have the talent that he does, he would have to work like a real person. Poor S.O.B has to work for 7 mil a year. Boo Who there are a couple guys making more than him. Hell I know many people that would kill for 7 mil in a life time of working. He is getting that per year. I knew that he would be trouble, especially after he got that slime of an agent. May he get a serious crotch rot.
