this just in!

Courtesy of Marc Fisher's discussion:

Yay to Nats fan Aviva Kempner, who has launched a campaign to reverse the gloom that has come over Nationals players over the past month. Kempner proposes to have fans of the team write old-fashioned fan letters to players who seemed to feed off the crowd's joy and gratitude earlier in the season. Could this help turn things around on the field? Maybe not, but it's worth a shot. Here's the address:
Your favorite player
c/o The Washington Nationals
RFK Stadium
2400 E. Capitol Street
Washington, DC 20003

It's worth a shot- better than decapitating a rubber chicken, anyway.

My dad is a colleague of Miss Kempner. She's a pill, but her efforts to boost the Nats are much appreciated (and I like her doc on Hank Greenberg, too).
