WASHINGTON, D.C. – Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin, the 2006 Calder Memorial Trophy winner as the NHL’s rookie of the year, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 27, when the Washington Nationals take on the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:05 p.m. at RFK Stadium.
Ovechkin will be among eight Capitals who will attend the Nationals’ batting practice and stay for the game. Ovechkin, Matt Bradley, Donald Brashear, Chris Clark, Steve Eminger, Jamie Heward, Brian Pothier and Brian Sutherby will be signing autographs on the concourse from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The Capitals will also have the opportunity to take batting practice on the field at RFK Stadium beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Nationals’ batting practice begins at 4:30 p.m.

As long as no one gets hurt in batting practice, sounds like a great opportunity. I only wish I could be at the game tomorrow, since it combines my two favorite teams. Such is life.

With Madden 07 cover athlete, Shaun Alexander, now out with a broken foot, I hope NHL 07 cover athlete, Alex Ovechkin, is careful at BP with the Nats.
It'll be fun to see some the hockey guys taking that hacks at RFK.
