Snyder strikes again

Remember a few years ago, when people were complaining about having to pay $10 to park at the Redskins practices? And they thought that was utterly ridiculous! Well, it was nothing compared to what they'll have to pay to see a scrimmage on Aug. 5:

On the day of the scrimmage, parking lots at FedExField will open at 9 a.m. ET and stadium gates will open at 10:30 a.m. ET. FedExField car parking will cost $25. (Parking for limousines, buses and RVs: $75)

Aug. 5 is also supposed to be "Fan Appreciation Day." I bet Dan Snyder's appreciative for these suckers!

So what do you get for your $25? I'll tell you what you don't get:

Due to the structure of the scrimmage, there will not be any organized autograph sessions with players or coaches.

But never fear, there's endless performances by the Redskins Marching Band and the cheerleaders, as well as lame-o "best dressed fan" contests that favor the fans who are 12 and under. Oh, and they're giving away raffle prizes. Any thoughts on how much those tickets will cost? Because you know they're not giving those tickets away for free! Unbelievable.

For a $5 entry, you get the chance to be selected at random to pay for your prize.

Snyder is an amazing piece of work. Thank God for the Rooney family.

Thanks for bringing this information out. An enjoyable read, as always.

I find the tolerance of Snyder's reign to be proof that Redskins fans are either the most loyal or stupid in the NFL. Perhaps both. When it comes to fan relations, he is the complete opposite of JKC.

Metro to Morgan Blvd. is the way to go. It is a bit of a hike, but barely longer than walking and no waiting for traffic to thin out.

Yeah, but do you want to take that hike under the hot August sun?

I think I'll pass.

wfy, the waiting list for Redskins season tickets is (perhaps literally) a mile long. Snyder knows full well that for every current ticket holder he pisses off with rediculous prices, there will be ten more waiting to snap up that person's tickets. Which is a damn shame because, as much as I love the Redskins, I wouldn't attend a game at FedEX Field if somebody paid me to do it.

I went to the scrimmage with the Steelers in frostburg a few times, Those were the good times, you know?

It was cool/fun to drive four hours out to the middle of nowhere, to pay some local two bucks to park on his lawn, and get pictures of your girlfriend touching Norv Turner. (That probably sounded sarcastic, but it wasn't meant to be)
