Now will you listen to me?

At times like this, I'm reminded of that wonderful quote from Spaceballs:

Oh, you're right. And when you're right, you're right. And you - you're always right.

Thanks to Off Wing Opinion for giving credit where credit is due:

Score one for DC Sports Chick, who had the story on Bruce Arena's hiring by the New York Red Bulls down cold last Friday.

All right, I have to acknowledge that it was Fred who actually got the info, so kudos to him for getting the scoop. It never hurts to have a contact on the U.S. National Team staff. (Too bad that doesn't translate into tickets.)

This link, comparing Zidane's headbutt outrage among various nationalities, is entertaining. I don't know if I like the French or Italian version better. The Japanese version also had its moments.

The article in today's Washington Post about Snyder's Triple X ESPN Radio was largely blah blah blah boring (not that it's Paul Farhi's fault; he's a good writer) except for this little excerpt:

Last year, for example, the Redskins demanded that WTEM change the hosts of its weekly chat with Coach Joe Gibbs after objecting to the tough questioning of former hosts Steve Czaban and Andy Pollin. The station complied, subbing in Weinstein.

God forbid anyone ask any questions besides the easy softball ones. Sure wouldn't want to put any undue pressure on Saint Gibbs! Gimme a break. Typical of how the Redskins rule the media around here.

When I first heard about Danny Boy's new radio network, I was worried about balanced coverage of the Redskins, but the more I think about it, the more I come to realize that WTEM was pretty much a shill for them anyway, so I've learned to stop worrying and love Triple X.
