The Nats capped off a successful grand re-opening weekend with a sweep of the Cubs. That's not really saying much, since the Cubbies are one of the few teams with a worse record than the Nats, but hey- we'll take what we can get.
Yesterday was interesting since the Nats were obviously playing the Cubs here, while D.C. United was off in Chicago playing the Fire. The outcomes weren't quite the same- the Nats won while D.C. United tied- but at least there were no losses. A successful weekend all around; the Fire scrape by with a tie, and the Cubs go back home with their tails between their legs. Can't complain about that!
I hope to get my pics from the games downloaded eventually, but Fred seems to have misplaced the card reader. Too bad, I think I got some good ones. Miss M was a good companion on Friday night, and the girls were rowdy as always on Saturday. Great to see everyone!

Thanks again girls it was a blast!
Is it true that the Mets are up like 13 games? I love the Nats too (Truly the Red Sox but it's ok) but jesus!
You understand, of course, that it's physically impossible for a member of this year's Cubs to leave anywhere with their tail between their legs.
After all, if one of the pitchers tried it, he'd end up on the DL with a torn groin. /sigh.
What's up, 'no-pictures-sports-chick'??
It was a fun game! And conflicted or not, I am glad the Nats won.
I couldn't get Blogger to post any pics of our fun. I tried all afternoon...
METS!
