Pittsburgh Penguins must fork out millions of dollars if they want to have gifted rookie Evgeni Malkin in their uniform next season, his Russian team says.
Where have we heard of this kind of extortion before? Oh yeah, Ovechkin...
Under the agreement, approved by the International Ice Hockey Federation last year, Metallurg would have received $900,000 for Malkin. But Magnitogorsk general director Gennady Velichkin threatened to go to court if Pittsburgh do not buy out Malkin's contract.
"We're not asking for ($900,000) compensation from Penguins. Such a sum is a handout and we're not interested in handouts," Velichkin told Russian media. "Put simply, they must buy his contract from us."
Basically they want like $25 million for him. Sure, the Penguins have that kind of money. They can barely afford to keep the team in Pittsburgh. I love the comment about handouts, like $900,000 is a "handout." Ever heard of a "contract?" Give me a break.
Speaking of dumb things, how about what this idiot did to Miami Dolphins linebacker Jason Taylor:
Redmond Charles Burns, 24, allegedly used racial epithets and yelled obscenities at Taylor, who is black, during an alleged highway confrontation Sunday night. Taylor told police that Burns grabbed his shirt, ripping it in several places, and suffered a "minor laceration" on a forearm from a metal object Burns allegedly used to attack him.
With a name like "Redmond," he's got to be a redneck.
It gets better:
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound Taylor then got out of his car and was confronted by the 5-foot-11, 168-pound Burns...
Hmm, I wonder: who's going to win this fight?
And finally, the best part of all:
Both men then jumped back in the truck and took off, with Taylor following and dialing 911. He lost the truck in a trailer park but was able to identify Burns from a photo lineup that police provided.
Is anyone really surprised here? A trailer park? I know Jason Taylor wasn't.

Hahahahah. I went to the same college as J.T. He was cool in the beginning then he became a real dickhead when he found out he was gonna get drafted. How he made it to the NFL is a mystery to me. But he ruined my ex because she was a ex of his and all she thought about was the millions she may have lost. Bastard!!! But how fitting that they use a trailer park to escape. How the hell do you disappear inside a trailer park?????
I'm guessing Malkin is looking for a better payday by joining the NHL as well as better competition and recognition. Additionally, his Russian team feels like they have a million dollar diamond they are being forced to sell in a pawn shop for 100 bucks. Can you blame them?
Also Taylor's road rage dude is giving trailor trash a bad name. I think the rest of his trailor park need to string him up and use him as an antenna to get local tv stations.

AQ, but isn't a contract a contract? I'm sure the contract includes provisions for bonuses like Ovechkin's did- he'll make over $3 million thanks to his meeting the bonus structure. I don't care, I'm just glad the Penguins are in the same boat that the Caps were in earlier. It's their turn to suffer now.
