Bonus points for chutzpah

I honestly don't care who wins the Sabres-Hurricanes playoff series, as long as the winner eventually falls to Edmonton. (I love the idea of a #8 seed winning it all- what can I say, I root for the underdog.) That being said, I thought this was fantastic:

OLN hockey broadcaster John Davidson reported Sabres coach Lindy Ruff left his cell phone charger at his hotel in Raleigh on Sunday. When the hotel offered to mail it to him, Ruff replied that he'd pick it up on Wednesday.

Dude's got balls! Good thing Ruff turned out to be right...would be a little embarrassing if he was wrong. Something tells me he would be buying a new cell phone charger if that were the case.

And in Ovechkin news, Fred and I discovered that he lives about a mile away from us and that he paid $1.5 million for his house. Ah, the wonders of the Internet. Not that we're stalkers or anything (though Fred now wants to "happen" to walk by his house when OV is outside and ask him for an autograph. I told him that was a dumb idea; we'll just rifle through his trash like everyone else.)

6/1/06: Just to clarify (since I noticed in my stats that someone from the Caps read the site), I'm only joking about rifling through Ovechkin's trash or stalking him in any way. Now, if it was Zubrus, that fine Lithuanian fox...Kidding!

I think I would have a hard time getting an autograph. I hate going up to famous people when they are doing real people stuff. Though it would be cool to get a picture with him. Total Cool.

I haven't watched much hockey all year and I tune in for the last 10 minutes of game 7 between the Sabres and 'Canes. Talk about intense hockey. Wow! Though I'm a transplanted Western New Yorker and have grown to be a Caps fan, it was tough to see the Sabres lose last night. :(

My $0.02.
