Super what? I have to say that had to be the worst officiated game ever. The premier game for the NFL was decided by the zebras. It seemed to me every time Seattle had the momentum the officials would negate it. And what was up with the Roethlisberger touchdown. He hit the ground before the line then hops over it. If that wasn't a biased call I don't know what is. It just seemed to me that Pittsburgh could do no wrong out there. I mean did the Referee Bill Leavy even call one thing against Pittsburgh? There were a total of 3 calls against the Steelers 2 that I remember in the first half, both false starts. The third does not even come to mind. Let's look at the penalties for the Seahawks. They were called for a total of 7. At least 2 of them negated possible touchdowns. The closest there came to a favorable call for Seattle was the Hassellbeck fumble. I was sure that it was going to be called in favor for the Steelers. It would have been an instant back breaker and would have iced the game with 9 mins left.
Now I am not going to say that the Seahawks didn't have their chances. If the would have gotten one or both of the field goals or stayed inbounds they could have won. A combination of crap made for a maddening game. Honestly I wouldn't have minded a Steeler win if they actually played a better game. The funny thing about the game is that Roethisberger had the worst game of a winning quarterback in the 40 year history of the Super Bowl and Seattle outperformed in most of the stats. But stats don't win games. Blown calls win games.
Shout out to DC Cookie. Good seeing you at the Caps-Leafs game. Sorry your team didn't play better (actually not really), hope a good time was had by all.
Here are a couple good columns on the subject.

Craptastic!
Ref Leavy should have been named MVP with those freaking calls...
Totally agree. I am also glad to see that it wasn't a partisan thing. A couple of the radio personalities I listen to who are about as nonpartisan as they come said the same thing.
Even my class instructor (a Pittsburgh fan) readily admitted that the Steelers basically stole the game...that they won it through the calls. What a lame way to win!
I didn't see much of the game but I did happen to be tuned in for that "touchdown."
That was such bullshit. He hit turf two feet in front of the line and then quickly crawled over it after the down looking like a kid who got caught with his hand in a cookie jar.
Total B.S.
By the way Sportschick, your gift was incredible. I can't believe one of them signed it, "To the Captain." Wonder what she was thinking.
Anyway, thanks again, I owe you a beer.
I am so with you. I hated that the Steelers win was tarnished like it was after they worked so hard to get there. It seemed very one-sided to me as well.
Fred, Wilma, just thought I'd disagree with you again! :) Whether your a Pittsburgh or Seattle fan (of which I'm neither - GO BILLS!) I am in the minority that Rothelesowfwofnburger did indeed score that touchdown. It's because he had his hand wrapped around the ball. If you watch that replay closely his hand does indeed fall just shy of touching the white line of the goal line. BUT, and here's the important part, the ball sticks out further ahead and so it must have touched the plane. Obviously the refs agreed because there was not sufficient evidenc to over turn that call.

Dangit! A typo. I hate "your" vs. "you're" typos. My apologies...
And Rothlessweofeburger is not a typo. I just don't have the patience to learn the spelling. :)
