They are given second, third, fourth and 15th chances solely because of their talent. That's why so many of them come to believe that rules and laws, even rules of decent behavior, don't apply to them.
Sad but true. Does Sean Taylor really see this $17,000 fine as punishment? Nah, chump change for him. Now, if the league had suspended him a game like they should have, then you better believe he'd be rethinking his actions right now.
On another note, I caught this great exchange on "The Price Is Right" this morning when I went into the office kitchen to heat up my lunch:
Contestant in "Neutered" shirt: "I loved you in 'Happy Gilmore'!"
Bob Barker: "They were going to do 'Happy Gilmore 2', and Adam's doctor told him that he couldn't take another beating like the one I gave him."

There was an article in the post this morning that I read after seeing the footage on ESPN last night. It had Omar Stoutmire saying "oh, oh, oh" after he and another Redskin questioned the referee on his decision and he told them why he'd ejected Taylor. Even they players seemed to understand. What I don't understand is why Taylor so protested and denied - he would have to have figured that, since there are cameras all over, he would eventually be exposed.
In the immediate days after the altercation the only camera angle that was used was one from behind Taylor that concealed any of the spit. I'll be interested to see what (if anything) is said by Taylor in the coming days. The coaches have backed him up because they were going on his word. I don't suspect they'll do that now.
As the great Randy Moss once said: "That's just pocket money. That's how I roll."
Beauty gets away with murder; ugly goes to jail. Athletic runs corporations; chubby cleans his office. Good ol' USA. We just keep rewarding bad behavior. We shuold just re-elect Bush for a third time while we're at it.
Get off Sean's back. If it were not for him we would not have made the playoffs (hence fumbe recovery vs Phili and TB). There are far worse mannered players in the NFL and you don't even know what Pittman did all game to gim. Go back and watch the game and see Mike Pittman punch him on plays, finger in the ear hole so get the whole story and GET OVER SEAN. Sean is one the the top safetys in the game and be happy he is here would you rather have that doushe bag Kellen Winslow?
