eta: While Mr. Smooth may not know what a save-the-date card is, I certainly do. There is a difference between the two. capscrazy has more information on what happened today and about the wedding on the boards, as she was part of the happy couple. Among other things, she discusses having the priest dressed as a referee. Hey, if you're having a hockey-themed wedding, you have to go all the way. Hope to see some pics of the event when the time comes!

A Caps Photo Shoot
Now here's an idea for a wedding announcement save-the-date card. See As Smooth As Sandpaper for details.

We are glad you liked our idea...it took a lot of phone calls and such to get it done, but the end result is AWESOME. Watch CSN tonight for our interview on SportsNite.

Very creative! And how great of the Caps to be so accomodating...will definitely watch SportsNite tonight.
Congrats on the wedding, too!
thanks so much...hee hee.
Obviously I have no idea the differences between the two items except for that one saves the date and the other announces something. Are bloggers supposed to have knowledge of everything? I guess if I were to ever get married *cough, cough* then I would know these things!! Instead, I'll just to stick to the things I know like fishing and biking. :)
Well, that's exactly it. You haven't gone through the delight of wedding planning (and you're not a girl), so I wouldn't expect you to know the difference between save-the-date cards and wedding announcements. (One is for before the wedding, one is after.) Either way, not a big deal.
